Job Summary
As a Cashier you will provide customer service, process transactions accurately, and assist with cash handling, compliance, and reconciliation tasks.
Full training will be provided, and there are opportunities to progress within the business for committed and high-performing team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
· Serve customers in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
· Process transactions (cash, debit, and bank) using tills and counting machines.
· Handle customer enquiries and provide information about services.
· Support collections and walk-in customers, ensuring compliance checks are completed.
Compliance & Cash Handling
· Follow company AML, KYC, and compliance procedures at all times.
· Accurately check and record customer identification where required.
· Count, check, and reconcile cash with attention to detail.
· Support daily and weekly reconciliation processes under supervision of senior staff.
· Assist in monitoring stock levels of currency, reporting shortages to senior colleagues.
· Use equipment to test notes and detect counterfeit currency.
· Report any concerns or suspicious activity to the Senior Cashier or Compliance Lead.
Teamwork & Development
· Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth branch operations.
· Support senior team members with tasks as required.
· Take responsibility for your own learning and complete training provided.
· Be flexible in covering shifts, particularly at weekends and during peak periods.
Growth:
· To support with Corporate Clients ensuring they are onboarded following compliance procedures.
· Money Transfers – support with the onboarding of new customers and promotion of this service.
Profit:
· To ensure stock levels are maintained and relevant stock is ordered to be able to process all orders.
Key Holder & Operational Duties
· Responsible for opening and closing the branch in line with company security procedures.
· Hold keys and alarm codes, ensuring secure access to the premises.
· Oversee the security of cash, stock, and branch assets at all times.
· Ensure tills, safes, and strong rooms are managed in accordance with company policies.
· Take full responsibility for branch security in the absence of management.
· Support rota planning, particularly for weekend and holiday cover.
Essential Criteria:
· Experience of working in a customer-facing role.
· High level of numeracy and accuracy.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work weekends as part of the standard rota.
· Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience with cash handling, stock, or reconciliation processes.
· Knowledge of foreign currency or financial products.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
· Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to business needs.
