General Practitioner – Fixed Term (8 months, Part‑time, 6 sessions per week)

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic GP to cover a salaried practitioner in our innovative training practice. The role is fixed‑term until 31 March 2026, part‑time with 25 appointments per day and no duty days. You will work within a triage system providing telephone, face‑to‑face and occasional home‑visit care for a mixed patient list of just under 17,000.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a varied patient list, applying GMC guidance and national best practice.
* Provide high‑quality clinical care, including appraisals, clinical sessions, and administrative duties.
* Consult patients via telephone, face‑to‑face, and occasionally home visits.
* Effectively manage long‑term conditions and uncertain or undiagnosed health issues.
* Prescribe following local and national guidelines, ensuring patient safety.
* Record clear, contemporaneous notes and process referrals, repeat prescriptions, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
* Adhere to audit and clinical guideline recommendations.
* Accept delegated responsibilities for QOF and commissioning improvement programmes.
* Support the management team in achieving strategic aims and participate in CPD and yearly appraisal.
* Promote collaborative working, liaising with all staff and contributing to training of GP registrars, medical, nursing and allied health students.

Qualifications (Essential)
* Experience in a general practice/primary care environment.
* Fully qualified GP eligible to work in NHS general practice.
* National Performers List registration.
* General Practitioner Registration.
* Positive DBS report.
Qualifications (Desirable)
* Clinical specialism or leadership experience.
* Experience achieving QOF standards.
* Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
* Understanding of the local patient population needs.
* Experience of EMIS Web.

Salary: £11,661 per session
