Trainee Project Planner
Location: Bristol and Glasgow
The ideal candidate will have active SC Clearance or be eligible to undergo SC Clearance.
The Experis Academy offers an exciting opportunity for delivery-oriented individuals to be trained and upskilled as Project Planners in the clean energy, defence, and civil decommissioning sectors. We seek ambitious candidates with strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills interested in reskilling or developing in project planning. This challenging yet rewarding role requires excellent customer-facing and teamwork skills.
You will support project planning activities within a delivery environment and collaborate with like-minded professionals to solve complex problems in the nuclear and infrastructure sectors.
As part of the programme, you will receive comprehensive training in project, programme, and portfolio management (P3M), including tools like Primavera and Excel, as well as soft skills such as negotiation, presentation, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution. The training involves scenario-based workshops for practical learning.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities include:
* Implementing and maintaining project structures
* Developing and maintaining the integrated project schedule
* Aligning scheduling tools with financial and material demand systems
* Providing regular status updates and metrics on project schedules
* Creating resource and cost-loaded schedules to inform IBP and financial status
Minimum criteria for applicants:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with confidence and effectiveness
* Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proactive in identifying potential issues
* High commitment to quality and continuous learning
* Experience in a delivery-focused environment within engineering, project management, or related fields
