Responsibilities
Histopathology is looking for a registered Biomedical Scientist who will:
* Apply routine histology techniques, including A–C category dissection, and support the transition to digital pathology
* Perform IHC and special stains, maintain and troubleshoot automated IHC machines, and contribute to quality control of microscopy
* Support the training and competency assessment of Associate practitioners and Medical Laboratory Assistant staff, particularly at the Band 5 level
* Assist with the familiarisation and implementation of ISO 15189 standards, Health & Safety requirements, audit processes, and training/education techniques
* Participate in staff and team development activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Biomedical Scientist with a valid registration
* Knowledge and experience in routine histology, IHC/Specials, and microscopy quality control
* Comfortable troubleshooting and resolving technical issues in a clinical laboratory setting
* Desirable familiarity with automated IHC platforms and molecular techniques
* Understanding of ISO 15189 standards and Health & Safety practices
* Excellent communication, organisational and proactive working style
