Job Title: Planning Coordinator
Responsible to: Supply Planner Team Lead
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planning Coordinator to join our team in Elgin.
This is a full time, fixed contract (1 year) position working 38 hours per week, Monday to Thursday and Friday.
Rate of pay starting from £24,897 per annum, dependant on experience.
About the Role
Your role will be to support the operations team through planning and scheduling of the purling, darning, finishing and lock-stitching manufacturing processes, to ensure all products are running on time and in full. You would work very closely with these production areas as well as the other planners to ensure internal production capacities are fully understood and that available capacity is fully utilised in the most optimal way.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Planning
* Schedule all production orders through finishing and lockstitch areas, considering product lead times, categories and capacity constraints.
* Identify and consider internal and external supply parameters and constraints that impact finishing and lockstitch plans.
Scheduling
* Create weekly priority plans for all finishing areas detailing overdue/urgent and standard orders by analysing order requirements and time constraints against further activity & sales orders.
* Build and manage the Lockstitch schedule within the Preactor planning tool, balancing workload against activity and equipment capacity and constraints.
* Update schedules and work orders in line with customer cancellations, delays and order amendments.
* Ensure products are delivered on time by expediting and progress chasing where necessary with clear instruction of priorities.
* Daily updates of production progress, highlighting risk areas and providing quick response to production queries.
* Attending productions meetings, providing valuable input on priorities and focus areas.
Operational Efficiency and Reporting
* Support continuous improvements on the production floor, developing and building on existing processes to improve production flow, on time starts, and inventory accuracy.
* Identify any upcoming flow constraints and works closely with the relevant members of the team to develop solutions.
* Proactive expediting of requirements to maximize stock availability of key material requirements.
* Generate & update daily/weekly reporting & identify trends requiring action.
* Developing and interpreting reports to monitor and deliver improvements.
* Identify and implement areas for systems improvements.
About you:
This is what we're looking for in our ideal candidate:
Essential
* Familiarity with production planning or manufacturing planning.
* Be able to work effectively with high levels of autonomy.
* Competent with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power Point etc),
* Have excellent communication skills.
Desirable
* Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Material Requirement Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Planning systems.
* Have excellent relationship management and influencing skills.
* Analytical approach to work and experience with identifying areas for improvement.
