As Management Accountant, you will be a leading member of a small but dynamic finance team responsible for producing accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts, and insights to support the business in achieving its financial targets. The role requires a strong understanding of legislation-based business models and financial modelling, challenging financial assumptions, and building and maintaining strong internal relationships with Operations. This is a key role with significant responsibility and scope for development. The position is full-time, permanent, and based on the outskirts of Stratford upon Avon. It offers a hybrid working model (2 days in the office) and numerous excellent benefits.
Responsibilities include:
1. Management Accounts:
o Ownership and regular updating of lead schedules to support month-end close processes.
o Processing monthly revenue and cost journals to ensure accurate financial reporting.
o Reconciling actual invoiced costs with operational cost models.
o Producing financial performance reports highlighting key revenue and cost drivers.
o Presenting financial performance to Operations, highlighting trends and variances.
2. Forecasts and Budgets:
o Collaborating with Operations to prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets, including narratives and assumptions.
o Developing high-level forecasts and scenario analyses based on key metrics.
o Participating in Operational strategy meetings to inform decision-making.
o Managing weekly cash forecast schedules.
3. Other Responsibilities:
o Completing monthly control account reconciliations and resolving queries proactively.
o Supporting invoice processing, query resolution, and working capital maximization.
o Assisting with finance projects and providing technical advice.
o Supporting the year-end audit process with evidence and explanations.
o Reviewing and updating process documentation periodically.
o Identifying and implementing process improvements.
o Becoming a subject matter expert and sharing knowledge within the team.
Candidate Requirements:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a management accounting role within a multi-business unit organization.
* Enquiring and commercial mindset with the ability to understand business models and see the big picture.
* Ability to communicate confidently at all levels of the company.
* Solid understanding of key financial and system processes.
* Experience with accounting software, preferably Microsoft Business Central.
* Proficiency in Excel-based querying and reporting software.
* Advanced skills in MS Office applications.
* Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and proactive problem-solving skills.
* High professionalism and confidentiality awareness.
Qualifications:
* Essential: Finalist or qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
* Desirable: Degree level education with 1st or 2:1 classification.
* Full UK driving license.
