Job title: Business Analyst Location: London, UK Job type: Contract (Inside IR35) About the Role As a Guidewire Business Analyst, you will be responsible for participating in business requirements review meetings and working with the Product Owner to ensure that requirements for Guidewire projects are captured as user stories that are prioritised and in a ready state. Ready means that stories must be immediately actionable. The development team must be able to determine what needs to be done and the amount of work required to complete the story. What will you do? Bridge the gap between the business and technical teams by working closely with the Product Owner to define and communicate the vision and scope for the product or project. Work with the Product Owner to stock the product or project backlog to ensure that it represents the overall scope of the project. Work with the Product Owner on a continuous basis to refine the backlog by organising/prioritising stories, splitting epics into stories that can be delivered within a sprint, and by getting selected stories into a ready state by capturing detailed user requirements before sprint planning. Participate in quality assurance activities, including working with the Test Analyst to establish proper test coverage and traceability to requirements, and with the Product Owner to demonstrate developed functionality, and assist with user acceptance testing. Work with Test Analyst to assist and monitor User Acceptance Testing. Participate in daily standup meetings, sprint planning and retrospective. Participate in POC to support new opportunities. Guide and mentor junior Business Analysts. Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. What are we looking for? Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders to identify, document, and prioritize business needs through interviews, workshops, and surveys. User Story Development: Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team. Process Mapping: Create visual representations of business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Stakeholder Communication: Function as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Sprint Planning and Review: Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives. Testing and Validation: Collaborate with QA teams to ensure that delivered solutions meet business requirements and function as intended. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our Scrum practices. Experience in Requirement and Ticket Management tools like Jira and Confluence. Knowledge of the AGILE methodology/Scaled Agile Framework, SDLC processes is essential. Training will be provided. The successful candidate will be required to complete Guidewire Analyst training and achieve Associate certification before they can be deployed on client projects. What is nice to have? Guidewire Business Analysis Certification on current solutions. Working experience in at least one of the Guidewire InsuranceSuite products (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter or Digital Portal) from a functional perspective. Business Analysis Certification (IIBA Certified Business Analyst). Prior client facing experience. Azure/AWS Cloud experience.
