Brief Description
We are looking for a friendly, reliable and motivated Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice to join a busy community pharmacy team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands‑on experience in a healthcare environment while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
Qualifications Required
GCSEs at A‑C or 4‑9 or equivalent, in Maths and English.
Training to be Provided
Pharmacy Services Assistant Level 2 (GCSE) and Functional Skills if required.
Future Prospects
This role involves engaging with customers and clients to provide prescription counter services, advice, housekeeping duties such as stock rotation and replenishment, and supporting a variety of public health services while progressing towards a pharmacy qualification.
Role Overview
As a Pharmacy Assistant Apprentice, you will support the day‑to‑day running of the pharmacy, helping customers and working closely with the pharmacy team to ensure safe and efficient service.
Key Duties
* Support customers at the medicines counter and respond to queries.
* Assist with the preparation and supply of prescriptions (under supervision).
* Handle stock, deliveries and maintain accurate records.
* Use pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and sales.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, health & safety and confidentiality.
* Work as part of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
What We’re Looking For
* Based within 30 minutes of the pharmacy and able to drive.
* Willing to work across Budleigh, Claremont and Imperial Road branches.
* Genuine interest in healthcare and working with people.
* Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
* Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
* Ability to work well in a fast‑paced environment.
* Reliable, punctual and professional.
* Basic IT skills.
Apprenticeship Details
Qualification: Level 2 Pharmacy Services Assistant Apprenticeship
Duration: Typically 15 months
Training delivered alongside your job through blended learning. Apprentices must commit to contracted working hours and guided learning hours.
Salary
Pay: £8 per hour.
