Maths Lecturer
Salary: Up to £39,496 pro rata (including Market Related Enhancement)
Contract Type: Full and part-time opportunities available (up to 37.5h/5 days a week)
Annual Leave: 37 electable days plus 8 statutory days (pro rata)
Market Related Enhancement: Payable upon completion of probationary period
Government Retention Incentive: Eligible for a targeted retention incentive payment of up to £6,000 (details available on GOV.UK)
We are looking for Maths Lecturers who are passionate, ambitious, and innovative. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching, assessment and support for GCSE Maths courses, collaborating with the Deputy Head of Maths and programme managers, and contributing to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver consistently good or outstanding lessons for students using modern pedagogical technology and providing out‑of‑lesson learning opportunities.
* Monitor student progress, ensuring high attendance and timely assessment completion, and provide clear, constructive feedback.
* Engage in departmental and college‑wide quality improvement initiatives, contributing to student, programme and overall college success.
* Participate fully in curriculum development initiatives to deliver vibrant and relevant learning experiences.
* Champion equality, diversity and safeguarding practices.
What We’re Looking For
* A teaching qualification for the level of programme (PGCE or equivalent).
* Strong subject knowledge and Level 2 or higher qualifications in English and Maths.
* Proven ability or potential to teach to a high standard.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
* A commitment to collaborative working and continuous professional development.
* Experience teaching GCSE/FS Maths.
* A degree or professional qualification in a relevant subject.
