Overview

College Community Support Officer [Ref: BRTN8354] role at Brighton MET. Salary: pro rata of £26,716 to £29,196 per annum (i.e. £22,194.83 - £24,255.14). 37 hours per week, 36 weeks per year.


Responsibilities

* Provide the first response to incidents across the College site, assist Managers or appropriate College staff to adopt a collaborative problem-solving approach to highlighted issues and implement de-escalation techniques and restorative justice.
* Act as Safeguarding Officer for assigned cases (in liaison with the Safeguarding team), gathering evidence in relation to incidents and disclosures as per the Safeguarding policy.


Qualifications

* GCSE maths and English Language, or equivalent at C/4 grade or above.
* Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area (eg, Coaching, Health and Social Care, Youth Work).
* Experience of working with young people (including 14-19-year-olds) and vulnerable adults and those with challenging behaviour is essential.
