Sweco, Manchester, United Kingdom. We are seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to join our national landscape architecture team from the Manchester office. The role supports development of high-quality projects and distinctive environments through a blend of technical knowledge and artistic flair. Location: Manchester. Working pattern: We will consider both full time and part time working.
We are looking for an individual who is approaching or has recently achieved Landscape Institute Chartership and has a passion to transform society through sustainable landscape solutions.
What the role involves
You will contribute to and sometimes lead the delivery of projects, working across a range of sectors with a focus on energy and infrastructure, and including commercial, educational, public realm and urban regeneration across the UK.
You will work with multi-disciplinary design and EIA teams, guiding projects through the planning process from site feasibility studies and concept design to landscape impact assessments, detailed design and management plans. You will collaborate with engineers, ecologists, heritage consultants and visualization specialists. The focus of your role will be landscape assessment and appraisal work.
You will demonstrate initiative in project development and coordination, help manage client relationships in a professional manner, and play a key role in day-to-day project QA, budgets and resources.
There will be opportunities to develop and nurture client relationships and bring work into the business. You will be encouraged to proactively develop your professional, technical and project management capabilities to grow your role within the team and wider business.
To Be Successful In This Role You Will
* Have a degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture
* Have a successful and diverse record of project delivery in Landscape Architecture
* Ideally be approaching or already be a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute
* Be able to work collaboratively with others to form strong positive working relationships with colleagues, clients and contractors and be capable of effective communication of your work and ideas
* Have the ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met and to effectively communicate progress to colleagues
* Have a well-structured and proactive approach to work, with experience of delivering high quality outputs across project stages on projects of varying size and complexity
* Have extensive site survey experience and the ability to prepare clear and concise written reports
* Be proficient in current digital software including AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, and MS Office. Capability in NBS, SketchUp and Revit would be an advantage
* Have a full driving licence
