Location: Luton
Salary: £14.50 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week — Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm. Additional hours/days may be required for holiday and sickness cover. Start/finish times are flexible (7:00am – 3:00pm).

Job Description
As a Sous Chef, you will collaborate with the culinary team to craft flavourful dishes and ensure excellent presentation, organisation, and communication. You should demonstrate a real passion for food and service and bring enthusiasm to the role.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation, production, and service.
* Ensure the quality and presentation of dishes meet company standards and client expectations.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures.
* Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions and seasonal ingredients.
* Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain inventory levels while minimizing waste.
* Collaborate with the catering team to execute special events and other culinary initiatives.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
* Support the Head Chef in administrative tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining records of food costs and inventory.
* Stay updated on industry trends and culinary techniques to enhance menu offerings and dining experience.
* Foster a positive working environment through leadership, communication, and teamwork.
Qualifications
* Experience in a similar role within contract catering or educational institutions preferred.
* Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-volume kitchen.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
* Positive, energetic, and team-oriented attitude.
* Good organisational skills and a flexible approach to work.
