Graduate Building Services Engineer
Starting Salary: £30,000
Location: Manchester, Sheffield or Birmingham
Working hours per week: 40 (Monday - Friday)

Status
This is a permanent position within Amey Consulting’s Consulting Buildings and Property team.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements.
* Design and model HVAC, lighting, power, and water systems using Revit or AutoCAD.
* Carry out technical analysis, including engineering calculations (load analysis, pipe stress) and energy modelling.
* Provide site support, including site visits, surveying conditions, and observing commissioning/installation to monitor progress.
* Coordinate with architects, clients and structural engineers to integrate services into building designs.
* Research and apply low‑carbon solutions and energy‑efficient technologies.
* Assist with technical reports, project specifications, and cost estimations.
* Perform general office duties associated with the smooth running of a consulting business.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
* Basic understanding of CAD/BIM software (Revit, IES, TAS, AutoCAD).
* Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, teamwork and communication skills.
* Interest or understanding of building performance, energy management and sustainability.
* Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and awareness of supplier services.
* Full UK driving licence.
