Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development Manager (EV Charging Infrastructure) at EV Smart, located in Chester-Le-Street. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and developing strategies to drive growth in the EV charging infrastructure market. Daily tasks include market research, negotiations, creating business proposals, and collaborating with internal teams to optimise our charging solutions and expand our market presence.

Qualifications

* Experience in Business Development, Sales, within the EV or renewable energy sector
* Strong skills in Market Research, Analysis, and Strategy Development
* Excellent Communication, Negotiation, and Relationship Management skills
* Proficiency in creating business proposals and presentations
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
* Proven track record of driving business growth and meeting performance targets
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field
* Knowledge of the EV charging infrastructure and sustainability practices is a plus

We are looking for someone who combines
commercial drive
with a
technical mindset
:

* Proven experience in
business development / sales
within EV charging, renewables, energy, utilities, or electrical contracting.
* Knowledge of
electrical installations
and infrastructure (e.g. load management, DNO applications, schematics).
* Strong commercial acumen with ability to discuss financial models (CapEx, OpEx, ROI).
* Confident communicator able to engage with senior stakeholders, councils, and technical teams alike.
* Self-starter with a growth mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-scaling business.
* Full UK driving licence (EV Smart provides EV company car/allowance).
