Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. The Support Worker will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those in our care.
Responsibilities
* Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Provide medication administration as per care plans and ensure compliance with medical guidelines.
* Support clients with meal preparation and dietary needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met.
* Engage in behaviour management techniques to support clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care.
* Conduct regular assessments of client needs and update care plans accordingly.
* Facilitate social interaction and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
* Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
* Assist with heavy lifting when required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
* Drive clients to appointments or social outings as necessary, ensuring their safety during transport.
Experience
* Previous experience in senior care or caregiving roles is essential, particularly within nursing homes or hospice care environments.
* Familiarity with medical terminology and case management practices is advantageous.
* Experience in home care settings is preferred, especially involving patients with specific needs such as dementia or Alzheimer's care.
* A valid First Aid certification is desirable to ensure the safety of clients under your care.
