* We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Band 8a Pharmacist to lead and develop the pharmacy service within a busy clinical directorate at Aintree.
* This is a key senior role, ideal for a confident and forward-thinking pharmacist with proven hospital experience and a passion for service improvement.
About the Role
As the Band 8a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
* Leading, managing, and developing the directorate’s pharmacy service
* Ensuring the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of medicines
* Providing highly specialist pharmaceutical advice to clinical teams
* Supporting multidisciplinary working across the directorate
* Developing and implementing evidence-based protocols, guidelines, policies, and pathways
* Contributing to governance, risk management, and audit activity
* Supporting junior pharmacists and pharmacy technicians through training and mentorship
* Working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders to drive high standards of patient care
Requirements
* GPhC-registered Pharmacist
* Significant hospital pharmacy experience (essential)
* Strong clinical knowledge within a specialist area
* Experience contributing to or leading service development
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Understanding of medicines governance, optimisation, and formulary processes
