About the Role
An established engineering organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels, pipework, and heat exchangers is seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Contracts Manager.
This role is key to ensuring the successful delivery of projects from initial enquiry through to completion. You will oversee technical, commercial, and scheduling aspects while driving cost-effective project execution. The position suits someone with a solid engineering background and strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and process incoming project enquiries
* Break down requirements into materials, labour, consumables, and tooling
* Collaborate with internal teams to produce accurate quotations
* Prepare cost estimates and calculate man-hours
* Process client purchase orders and raise internal orders for materials/services
* Monitor project budgets and track expenditure
* Produce detailed work packages for production
* Distribute project documentation across relevant departments
* Liaise with QA and Production to ensure project timelines are met
* Track, report, and record project milestones and performance
* Follow up on quotations to gather client feedback
* Prepare dispatch and invoicing documentation
* Provide technical support throughout the contract lifecycle
* Support the design and development of bespoke jigs and fixtures
Requirements
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in an engineering or technical environment
* Level 3 engineering qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Strong understanding of engineering principles
* Practical application of trigonometry in engineering contexts
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Experience with 2D CAD software
