Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Autism) Location: Romsey Hours: Mornings only (part-time timetable) Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for an autistic child, both in and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of autism and be confident supporting a child with additional needs, adapting strategies to support learning, emotional regulation, and engagement throughout the school morning. This role requires patience, consistency, and the ability to build a trusting relationship. The role includes: Providing 1:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs Supporting learning activities within the classroom and during transitions Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals Promoting positive behaviour, independence, and inclusion Essential / Preferred: Previous experience supporting autistic children (essential/preferred) A calm, resilient, and flexible approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupil wellbeing This is a morning-only position to begin with, as the child is currently on a part-time timetable, with the potential for hours to increase in the future.
