Job Description:
MCS Group is seeking a proactive and skilled Environmental & Facilities Engineer to support the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities and services for a leading manufacturing company based in the Greater Belfast area.
This role involves working across plant infrastructure, environmental systems, and site services to deliver improvements in compliance, cost, and efficiency.
Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring all plant and facility systems comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.
* Managing service contracts for water, compressors, forklifts, cranes, heating, and waste management.
* Developing environmental databases and investigating environmental incidents.
* Leading internal audits and supporting external compliance activities (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
* Driving initiatives to reduce energy use, waste, and environmental impact.
* Coordinating with suppliers for equipment and service sourcing.
* Preparing technical specifications, reviewing tenders, and presenting capital expenditure proposals.
* Liaising with regulatory bodies for audits, permits, and funding.
* Identifying and leading the implementation of cost-saving projects.
* Conducting risk and compliance assessments.
Candidate Criteria:
* Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 14001, PPC).
