Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has vacancies for experienced mammographers to join the team as a Bank Mammographer.
The position will be Mon-Fri, working adhoc 7.5 hour shifts, between 8am - 6pm.
You will work as part of the Breast Unit's Multi-disciplinary team, supporting the Superintendent in the timely and efficient day-to-day running and delivery of the breast screening and symptomatic service. You will be expected to work autonomously as well as within the multidisciplinary team, and provide daily supervision for Assistant and Associate Practitioners (APs), Radiography Department Assistants (RDAs), and student Radiographers and Band 6.
Main duties of the job
The Maidstone Peggy Wood Breast Unit provides screening services to women as part of the National Breast Screening Programme, inviting approximately 25,000 women per year. Most screening is performed on mobile breast screening vans covering Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Cranbrook, and Edenbridge. The symptomatic service is based at both Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital Sites.
You must have HCPC registration as a radiographer, hold the Postgraduate Award in Mammography, and have extensive mammography experience. Willingness to travel to all sites used by the mobile screening vans and flexibility to meet service needs are essential.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc in Radiography or equivalent (Diagnostic or Therapeutic)
* Postgraduate Award in Mammography, recognised by the NHS Breast Screening Programme
* HCPC registration
Experience/Knowledge
* Knowledge of breast anatomy and diseases
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
* Experience in mentoring and teaching
* Experience in supervision and daily management of a clinical area
* Ability to operate image acquisition, RIS & PACS systems
* Mammography experience within NHSBSP or equivalent
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, using initiative when required
* Willingness to undergo role extension training if necessary

* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Ability to perform high-volume, quality mammography to NHSBSP standards

Compensation: £28.80 per hour (including 12.5% WTD payment).
