Job Summary The QRC in Newark specializes in the supply and overhaul of valves and controls for the oil, gas, power, water and chemical industries, amongst others. Many of the valves are automated to customer specifications in our well-equipped workshop. Our products have a high-quality standard. Due to increasing activities and growth, we are looking for a shop floor technician. The individual should be able to construct, assemble, automate or rebuild valves and actuators, in addition to repairs and services.
* Operating Machine or Equipment – Operate basic equipment and machines and carry out routine tasks as per work instructions
* Operations Management – Carry out operational tasks by following established processes
* Equipment Maintenance and Repair – Help to maintain and repair equipment and appliances by carrying out preparations and providing assistance
* Health, Safety and Environment – Follow basic mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others
* Operational Compliance – Follow a straightforward mandatory procedure to ensure that work is carried out to the required quality standards and/or to ensure adherence to external regulatory codes and internal codes of conduct
* Internal Communications – Exchange information with people by having courteous interactions with them
* Other duties as assigned
Your Profile
* Valve knowledge
* Experience in control and isolation valve assembly, actuators, accessories, automation services, pressure testing, positioner calibration etc
* Adequate know-how to troubleshoot valves and actuators that come for repair
* Familiarity with instruments
* Ability to read and understand assembly, component installation and schematic drawings
* Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective elementary verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions
* Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives
* Policy and Procedures - Works with guidance to understand policies and procedures, while ensuring they align with organizational strategies and objectives
* Health and Safety - Applies elementary concepts to manage and apply safe systems of work
* Equipment Utilization - Works to optimize the utilization of production plant, equipment, and materials
