Lunchtime Supervisor Hours of work – 5 (Monday-Friday – 12.00-1.00pm) Salary band A2 - £12.26 p/h It is expected that you will be a positive and committed member of the team of staff at Streetsbrook Infant & Early Years Academy, playing a full role in the education, personal and social development of the children of the school. We aim to provide a stimulating, caring and happy environment in which children are equipped with the skills they need to become successful life-long learners. Your job description describes in general terms what you will be expected to undertake. However, the jobs or duties described may vary or be amended from time to time without changing the level of responsibility associated with the post. Roles and responsibilities: • To assist in ensuring a purposeful and safe lunchtime environment, which enables children to feel secure and happy • To ensure safe supervision for all children at all times and to work within Health and Safety guidelines including attending Health and Safety training. • To be aware of all Health and Safety regulations including fire safety procedures • To share in the whole school responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children • To work cooperatively with other team members/school staff and show a flexible and enthusiastic approach to your position • To contribute to the planning and organisation of the Lunchtime experience and its implementation, including being involved in team meetings • To supervise individuals and groups of children, preparing activities and resources where required • To model appropriate behaviour and language and promote good manners. • To ensure all children are accessing a healthy school lunch and liaise with school staff regarding any issues of concern • To assist children in the dining hall and tidy all areas following lunch • To assist with the general welfare and safety of all children, including administering basic first aid (under the guidance of the school ‘First Aiders’) and caring for children who become unwell. • To follow school policies and procedures and keep all records, including first aid documentation, up to date • To undertaking other practical tasks to assist in the running of the school, as the headteacher or designated member of staff requires Standards: • To fully support the aims and ethos of the school • To set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance • To be prepared to attend occasional meetings for professional development and team liaison • To be committed to your continuing professional development by attending/completing relevant training • To participate in PTA/whole school events You will be expected to work across the 3 – 7 years’ age range according to the needs of the school at any one time. Streetsbrook Infant & Early Years Academy has a No-Smoking Policy, which applies to both the buildings and the site. Although your hours of work will remain the same in total, the days and times may vary according to the requirements of the school. Any appointment is subject to a DBS and medical clearance and evidence of appropriate qualifications.
