In this role you will: Deliver and/or lead RAMS/PRAMS assignments-planning, executing and assuring work across the system lifecycle Tackle complex integration challenges for major programmes, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to balance safety, performance and maintainability Apply core techniques including hazard identification and qualitative/quantitative risk assessment; functional analysis; FMEA/FMECA; reliability/availability modelling Engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels, translating technical insight into clear, actionable decisions Support team growth and capability, sharing know-how, coaching colleagues and contributing to business development Grade: Principal Consultant Locations: London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham | Hybrid working Department: Asset Management (Programmes & Advisory) Travel to client/project sites as needed and occasional short-term secondments - including potential international opportunities Experience & Mindset Good industry experience in RAMS/PRAMS or Technical/System Safety (we're open to outstanding "fast-track" talent, and also very experienced candidates) Ability to work independently on stand-alone work packages and step into a Principal level brief Sector exposure in one or more of: rail & transportation, energy & power, chemical/process, oil & gas, data centres/technology, water, aerospace/aviation, government Ability to thrive in varied, ambiguous environments-curious, delivery-focused and proactive in learning and knowledge sharing. Technical Foundations Technical/System Safety: HAZID, qualitative/quantitative risk assessment, SIL understanding, risk evaluation for safety-related/critical systems Reliability & Availability: Functional analysis, FMEA/FMECA, RBD, FTA/ETA, reliability/availability modelling (e.g., Reliability Workbench or similar) Awareness across different system lifecycle stages and RAMS assurance challenges from concept to operations Qualifications Degree in a relevant engineering or scientific discipline (or equivalent practical experience with clear technical depth) Preferred ?
