The Role
Blackhall & Powis seeks its first full‑time, permanent Chief Financial Officer to shape and support its next decade of growth. Sitting within the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the CEO, you will be central to defining financial strategy and building the infrastructure to enable rapid expansion. You’ll oversee all strategic finance activities, including planning, budgeting, forecasting and long‑term modelling, ensuring the company remains compliant with UK and international regulations. You’ll also play a vital role in acquisitions, integration and investor relations as we develop a multi‑entity group.
Provide strategic leadership for growth, acquisitions and group structuring.
Enhance management reporting, KPI frameworks and financial analysis.
Lead due diligence, post‑merger integration and investor engagement.
Manage cashflow, financing and working capital arrangements, including facilities.
Drive systems development, ERP upgrades and financial controls aligned with RICS standards.
Mentor and develop the internal finance team for scalability and resilience.
Support long‑term planning, including tax strategy and compliance with regulations such as AML, VAT and FCA considerations.
Strengthen governance, risk controls and overall financial discipline.
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be an accomplished senior finance leader with a track record of scaling businesses, ideally within a consultancy, engineering or project‑driven environment with multiple locations. Your technical competence is coupled with strategic influence – you can build a finance function that can support rapid growth and complex transactions. Your maturity and leadership style foster a collaborative, fast‑paced environment, and you’re motivated by making a tangible impact in a high‑growth organisation.
Mandatory
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Senior finance leadership experience (CFO/FD level) in a fast‑growth SME or consultancy
Expertise in financial modelling, planning, forecasting and KPI development
Proven ability to lead strategic and operational finance teams
Experience with compliance, controls and financial systems enhancements
Preferred
Acquisition or integration experience
FCA regulation exposure or investor engagement background
Experience in engineering, infrastructure or project management sectors
Multi‑site operational expertise
