Join the Sizewell C team to work on one of the UK's largest megaprojects, contributing to the nation's climate change agenda and energy policy. This nuclear new build project in Suffolk has obtained planning approval, government support, and is now in construction. It aims to provide reliable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain’s goal of Net Zero by 2050.
Job Purpose / Overview
The Project Manager will drive the delivery of civil works and key contracts, focusing on advancing engineering and securing supply chains to de-risk the Final Investment Decision (FID). The role involves working closely with supply chain teams, responsible designers, quality teams, and suppliers to prepare for and execute project delivery, focusing on civil works with a scope up to £50m.
Principal Accountabilities
* Oversee systems, structures, and components to maximize HPC replication and prepare for contract awards.
* Ensure timely delivery of engineering studies meeting project needs.
* Prepare post-FID contracts and technical specifications.
* Implement site-specific design changes into design deliverables and contracts.
* Manage interfaces within the project to ensure coordinated delivery.
* Engage stakeholders early to identify obsolescence and risks.
* Manage procurement technical elements for specific contracts.
* Ensure lessons learned are integrated into business practices.
* Develop strategies aligned with the project execution plan.
* Define work scope and manage delivery to ensure safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.
* Manage contractual requirements and oversee manufacturing and construction contracts.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
* Degree and Chartered status in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
* Experience managing major projects from concept to handover, ensuring safety and environmental responsibility.
* Proven success in coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing complex contracts.
* Background in engineering relevant to large industrial plants, with nuclear industry experience preferred.
* Chartered Engineer qualification.
* Experience in procurement for nuclear power stations.
* Excellent communication skills and experience managing diverse teams.
