Job Description
TEXO Recruitment is excited to be recruiting a Crane Engineer on behalf of our external client based in Newcastle upon Tyne on a permanent basis.
As a crane engineer with electrical experience, you will be part of a team primarily responsible for crane maintenance and installation. As part of a multi-skilled team, you will also support and carry out projects utilizing various lifting techniques and inspecting general lifting equipment.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out, build, service, inspect, and repair machinery and equipment at customer premises or on-site.
* Diagnose specific fault issues and take appropriate action.
* Ensure all service information is read, understood, and properly filed.
* Maintain and update all service manuals consistently.
* Work strictly in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and recommendations.
* Escalate issues related to broken or damaged equipment appropriately.
* Work with the customer to ensure quality standards are maintained and the worksite is left clean and satisfactory.
* Submit and revise documentation based on client and team feedback.
* Serve as the main point of contact for technical issues on assigned projects.
* Identify and communicate potential business opportunities within ongoing projects.
* Coordinate with design engineers to ensure project timelines are met.
* Maintain high standards of health and safety in the workplace.
* Support lifting projects using your engineering skills and seek to expand your skill set.
* Maintain a professional image, including vehicle cleanliness and personal presentation.
* Support team efforts and learn new skills, including machinery lifting and vessel projects.
* Perform other duties as reasonably requested.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
* Completion of a recognized apprenticeship to NVQ level 3 or equivalent in a related industry.
* Experience in repairing, maintaining, and inspecting cranes.
* Slinger & CSCS cards.
* Ability to demonstrate testing and inspection techniques.
* Experience in planning complex lifting operations.
* Ability to produce supporting documentation and familiarity with coding techniques.
* Experience in heavy lift operations.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
* Valid driving license.
* Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations.
* Good communication skills at all levels.
* Flexibility to support projects outside normal hours.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* Progression through LEEA modules.
* Willingness to undertake additional training as required by the customer.
