Established in 1928 by Eleanor Rathbone, the charity was the first older adult focused charity in the world. Since their conception, Age Concern Liverpool & Sefton’s (ACLS) mission has been to protect and promote the well-being of people over 50 years of age in our area. With nearly 100 years’ experience working with older adults in Liverpool & Sefton, we are experts in understanding the needs of our community and delivering impactful services. Their services include: befriending and re-ablement, a Mental Health Support Service, friendship services, an Activity Programme operating from our activity room and at locations across the city, an information and advice service, a telephone, online and drop-in service for any query or concern raised by an older person, relative, neighbour, professional or other VCSE partner and The Hamlets, their 30-bedroom specialist nursing home for older adults with functional mental health needs. Job Summary The Benefits Advice and Support Officer will provide expert advice and practical assistance to older people seeking information on state benefits and income maximisation after retirement. This role is crucial in helping individuals navigate complex benefits systems, ensuring they receive their full entitlements and improve their financial security. Closing date 04/01/2026hours Term: Part time. Salary: £17,200 pro rata. Hours per week: 20 hours.
