About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and compassionate Deputy Home Manager to join our dedicated team at Derwent Lodge, our residential care home in West Sussex.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the service. You will provide strong leadership to staff, ensure the highest standards of care and compliance, and contribute to the growth and development of the service – while making a real difference to the lives of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Put residents at the heart of everything we do, ensuring care reflects their wishes, choices, and wellbeing.
* Support the day-to-day management of the home, maintaining high-quality care and compliance with CQC and regulatory standards.
* Lead, motivate, and develop the staff team through supervision, appraisals, and ongoing training.
* Oversee the monthly rota, ensuring safe staffing levels and the right skill mix.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date care documentation and records.
* Promote a safe, supportive, and positive environment for residents and colleagues.
* Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver the best outcomes for residents.
About You
You'll bring both expertise and compassion to the role, with the ability to inspire and lead by example:
* Registered with the NMC (or equivalent).
* Proven experience as a Deputy Manager or in a supervisory role within a residential or nursing home.
* In-depth knowledge of CQC standards and care compliance.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams.
* A genuine passion for delivering outstanding care and enhancing resident wellbeing.
Requirements
Nursing qualification (NMC registered or equivalent)
Previous experience as Deputy Manager (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of CQC compliance
Right to work in the UK
