Robert Half are currently partnering with a growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in Poole that is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant to join their team. The Accountant will receive a salary up to £55,000 plus attractive benefits. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys managing client relationships, delivering high-quality financial support, and working within a modern, collaborative environment.The firm works with a varied portfolio of SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and entrepreneurs, providing accounting, tax, and advisory services tailored to their clients' needs.The RoleThe successful candidate will manage a portfolio of clients and be responsible for delivering a range of accounting and compliance services while also supporting clients with commercial and financial insight.Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation of year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnershipsProduction of management accounts and financial reportsPreparation and submission of VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and self-assessment tax returnsSupporting clients with bookkeeping and cloud accounting softwareReviewing financial records and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards and HMRC requirementsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsAssisting clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reportingSupporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriateContributing to process improvements and operational efficiencies within the practiceCandidate RequirementsPrevious experience working within an accountancy practice environmentAAT qualified, part-qualified ACA/ACCA, or qualified by experience (QBE) candidates will all be consideredStrong understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulationsExperience working with SME clientsProficient with software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or SageStrong communication and interpersonal skillsHighly organised with excellent attention to detailAbility to manage workloads and meet deadlines independentlyRobert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
