Job Overview
Due to continued growth we are looking for a Self-Employed Auto Electrician to join our team, which could result in PAYE position. To provide specialist electrical diagnostics, repair, and installation services for a wide range of vehicles. This role requires strong technical knowledge of modern automotive electrical systems and the ability to diagnose faults efficiently on cars, vans and HGV’s.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
* Repair and replace faulty wiring, sensors, control units, and electrical components.
* Install vehicle electrical systems such as additional cameras, tracking systems, additional lighting and more.
* Perform battery, alternator, and starter motor testing and carry out competent replacements.
* Troubleshoot CAN bus systems, ECU faults, and modern vehicle electronics.
* Carry out wiring repairs and modifications on a wide range of vehicles.
* Provide mobile electrical repair services at customer locations where required.
* Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts used.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with industry standards.
* Good Housekeeping/ Cleanliness is a must.
* Time keeping and working to target deadlines.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or Automotive Technician.
* Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics.
* Ability to use diagnostic scanners, multimeters, and electrical testing equipment.
* Knowledge of modern vehicle electronics, ECUs, and CAN bus systems.
* Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work independently & as part of the team.
* Takes upmost pride in their work.
Qualifications (Preferred)
* Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Automotive Electrical or Vehicle Maintenance.
* Valid driving licence.
* Class 1 or 2 licence beneficial but not essential.
* Experience working on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
