About the Job:
As Financial Controller, you will oversee all aspects of financial management across the business, leading a team of four and reporting directly to the MD. You will be responsible for:
• Managing daily finance operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
• Approving invoices, overseeing cash flow, and managing banking relationships.
• Preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Coordinating with external auditors and ensuring compliance with local laws and industry regulations.
• Monitoring and improving internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Identifying and delivering system and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Acting as a key business partner to the MD, contributing to long-term financial planning and business strategy.
About the Successful Candidate:
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven experience as a Financial Controller or senior finance manager in a manufacturing environment. Ideally, you will have worked within a privately-owned or family-owned business and will be comfortable operating with a hands-on, pragmatic approach.
Key skills and experience include:
• Strong background in manufacturing or product-led industries.
• Track record of delivering financial improvements, system efficiencies, and robust controls.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience managing and developing small teams.
• Commercially astute, with the ability to influence at senior level.
