Offer description

A day in the life of a Residential Childcare Worker

Whilst every day brings an opportunity to shape our children’s lives for the better, no one day is ever the same. Some days you will enjoy making fabulous memories with our children; supporting them to get up, be educated, eat well, engage positively in their communities, attend appointments and enjoy fun activities. Other days may be more challenging.

Our children’s complexities mean that they may face physical disability, illness, emotional and mental health struggles, present behaviour that may challenge you, and struggle to communicate with and understand the world around them. These are the days that require your resilience and commitment, but they’re also the days that lead to the greatest sense of achievement. When a child is experiencing physical or emotional pain or difficulty, your support means everything to them and it is what inevitably means that they end their day feeling happier, loved, and safe.
