SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Behaviour Focus - Waltham Forest - ASAP Start

A well-regarded secondary school in Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) and challenging behaviour. The role: SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Behaviour Focus

As a Behaviour-Focused SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
Deliver targeted interventions to help students manage their emotions, build resilience, and improve social skills
Implement tailored strategies to enable students to engage positively with learning
Work closely with the SENCO, pastoral staff, and teaching team to deliver consistent support
Act as a trusted adult, building positive relationships that foster progress both in and out of the classroom
Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supportWhat we're looking for: SEN Teaching Assistant - SEMH & Behaviour Focus

Have previous experience supporting young people with SEMH or challenging behaviour
Are calm, empathetic, and confident in de-escalating situations
