We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and ambitious Head of English to lead our dedicated team of English teachers.
The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of English. Through expert teaching and leadership, you will inspire our students and teachers, enabling our students to achieve excellent outcomes. You must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students, equipping them with the skills and characteristics needed to ensure they are at the front of the queue for the best apprenticeships and university places. At the UTC we are mindful of staff workload. The English department has a fully resourced curriculum and workload reduction is considered within our policies and procedures. This role is suitable for experienced teachers or those who are currently Second or Head of Department.
The Engineering UTC is a 13-19 school (PAN 600) in Scunthorpe town centre which is supported by an impressive list of local, regional, national and multi-national companies and by educationalists with a track record of success. Our core partners include: Phillips 66, Orsted, University of Hull, Tronox, Care Plus Group, CATCH, RWE, SSE, ORE Catapult and British Steel.
The curriculum and facilities are designed to meet the needs of the local labour market. As well as providing students with a high level of skills, the curriculum is our specialisms of Engineering and Health Sciences underpins the learning in the main STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths), providing our students with the skills our local business partners require.
The UTC curriculum and ethos enable students to become confident and independent through active and experiential learning.
