HAYS are delighted to be working exclusively with Sandwell Council to recruit for an interim Fleet andpliance Officer on a part-time basis. My client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable candidate who will be responsible for monitoring all areas of Fleet and Servicepliance, ensuring all requirements are met in a timely manner and adherence to appropriate regulations is maintained.
This role is paying up to £350 per day and will be hours per week.
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
1. Monitor Fleet and Servicepliance in line with required legislation, regulations, Council policies, and best practices.
2. Utilise knowledge of UK Transport regulations (Operators Licence, Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, EU and GB Driver Hours) and LOLER/PUWER regulations to identify, report, and address issues of nonpliance.
3. Escalate nonpliance issues to the line manager with accurate details and potential solutions.
4. Record and provide statistical reports on Fleet/Servicepliance and performance.
5. Collaborate with the Fleet Operations Manager to monitor service performance and quality against set KPIs.
6. Conduct planned and ad-hoc audits or spot checks of Fleet users within the Council to ensurepliance, producing RAG reports for distribution.
7. Create, monitor, manage, and distribute asset service/maintenance schedules, considering workshop/contractor availability, service disruption, and priorities.
8. Assist in organising Fleet Service workshop loading and the use of contractors to meet service/maintenance requirements.
9. Provide accurate guidance and advice to Council employees on fleetpliance requirements, including LOLER and PUWER regulations, Operators licence requirements, Guide to maintaining roadworthiness, Driver licencing requirements, and EU and GB drivers' hours regulations.
In order to be successful in this role, you will have:
10. Experience in fleet administration andpliance.
11. Experience in the use of Excel for data analysis.
12. Experience working with a Fleet Management System.
13. Knowledge of relevant regulations ( EU and GB driver hours rules, LOLER and PUWER, UK Transport regulations, including maintenance requirements).
