Overview
Are you a specialty doctor looking to join our rehabilitation services? We are looking for a part‑time Specialty Doctor to work within the Pan‑Dorset Mental Health Complex Care Service providing comprehensive community and inpatient based services to patients.
The rehab service supports people who have chronic and disabling mental health problems that may be treatment‑resistant and who have previously spent long periods in hospital. As a specialty doctor you will cover the CRT and inpatient rehab services in the East of Dorset (BCP) locality.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the assessment of new patients into the service, contribute to their ongoing management and review when appropriate for patients to be transferred back to the general adult’s team.
* Ensure that patients receive appropriate clinical assessments and that there is appropriate medical input into care planning.
* Prepare reports for mental health review tribunals and managers’ hearings and give evidence.
* Provide medical treatment within a model of multi‑disciplinary care, liaising with other clinician teams within and outside the trust and with general practitioners and medical specialists regarding the physical health of patients.
* Maintain Section 12 approval and contribute to and attend the trust journal clubs and multidisciplinary audit meetings.
* Be involved in shaping local rehabilitation services and develop the necessary management and leadership skills to fully participate in service developments.
