The opportunity
As Onshore Wind Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting and managing the implementation of EDF Renewables UK & Ireland's Zero Harm ambitions across the onshore wind portfolio, from development to operations and maintenance.
Your focus will be applying the hierarchy of risk control measures to our wind assets: during development with safe by design principles, and during high-risk activities like construction, operations, and maintenance. You will also learn from events to improve safety practices.
Working within a matrix organization, collaboration with H&S colleagues across various business units and the Corporate HSE Team is essential.

What you'll be doing
You will be part of a team of H&S Specialists, providing support, input, and advice throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on business H&S needs. Regular site visits across the UK and Ireland will help promote a Zero Harm culture and establish strong relationships with colleagues and contractors. The role is home-based with flexibility across locations.
Responsibilities include:
* Setting high HSE standards and providing visible leadership.
* Fostering an environment where safety is a fundamental priority.
* Implementing EDF Renewables UK & Ireland H&S policies.
* Supporting development of H&S management systems and procedures.
* Representing EDF Renewables at H&S forums and events.
* Ensuring compliance with statutory and legal UK & Ireland requirements.
* Acting as a role model for H&S standards and continuous improvement.
* Overseeing H&S procedures related to Onshore Wind.
* Participating in risk management processes.
What do you need to be great at this role?
* Experience managing health and safety in development and operational multi-site environments.
* NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification.
* Engineering, construction, or wind farm experience preferred.
* Experience with high voltage equipment and switching is desirable.
* Chartered IOSH member or working towards CMIOSH.
* GWO training/certificates are desirable.
* Ability to work at heights is desirable.

Location: Home-based with travel to sites and offices mainly in central England (between Wales and Peterborough). Occasional visits to other UK locations may be required.
