Night Manager Department: Front of House Reports to: FOM / RDM
The Role
At Arthouse, the Night Manager is in charge when the lights dim. Were looking for someone who can take full ownership of the hotel overnight. Calm, credible, and in control, youll lead the night operation, ensuring the safety of guests, the smooth running of the building, and a seamless handover into the day.
This role is about presence as much as process. Youll support the team, make decisions when it matters, and ensure the hotel is not just operational, but properly prepared for what comes next.
What Youll Be Responsible For
Leadership & Ownership Take full responsibility for the hotel during the night shift
Lead and support the Night Team, setting the tone for professionalism and accountability
Act as the senior point of contact for any operational or guest-related issues
Make confident decisions in real time, ensuring the hotel always runs smoothly
Guest Experience Ensure all guest interactions are handled with confidence, care, and efficiency
Support with late check-ins, guest requests, and issue resolution
Step in where needed to maintain service standards across the night operation
Create a calm and reassuring presence for guests and team alike
Safety & Security Take overall responsibility for the safety and security of the hotel overnight
Ensure all checks are completed across the building, including public areas and back of house
Manage any incidents or emergencies in line with company procedures
Maintain full compliance with fire, health & safety, and security protocols
Night Audit & Reporting Oversee and complete the night audit process accurately and on time
Ensure all financial and operational reports are correct and submitted as required
Monitor systems and documentation to ensure accuracy and accountability
Provide a clear and detailed handover to the day team
Operations & Preparation Ensure the hotel is fully prepared for the next days operation
Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Office to support room readiness and planning
Oversee the setup of public areas, meeting spaces, and key operational requirements
Identify and resolve any issues that could impact the following day
Standards & Compliance Ensure all company procedures and standards are consistently followed
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety, Fire, and COSHH regulations
Record and report any incidents, maintenance issues, or risks
What Were Looking For Experience in a supervisory or management role within a hotel environment
Strong understanding of Front Office operations and night audit processes
A confident decision-maker who is comfortable leading independently
Calm under pressure, with strong problem-solving ability
