Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator is a position within the Strategic Partnership in Healthcare Education and Resources (SPHERE) that reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Health Equity and Manager of SPHERE. The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing the daily operations and activities of a specific program or department. This role ensures that program goals and objectives are met efficiently by coordinating logistics, managing communications, maintaining records, and supporting staff and participants. The Program Coordinator works closely with internal teams and external partners to facilitate smooth program delivery, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.

Key responsibilities typically include scheduling and event planning, program budget tracking, data management, reporting, and providing administrative and operational support to program leadership.

This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the process of identifying, recruiting and enrolling for all academic programs affiliated with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Temple University Health System (LKSOM/TUHS). The Program Coordinator will represent LKSOM/TUHS at conferences, open houses, campus tours, school visits and other recruitment events and will assist in the coordination of these activities as needed.


Job Details

This position requires the following background checks: criminal history review, child abuse clearance and FBI fingerprinting.


Required Education and Experience

* Bachelors degree with at least 3 years of experience working in a university setting.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Required Skills and Abilities

* Demonstrated interpersonal skills and advanced understanding, appreciation, awareness, and knowledge of multicultural issues in higher education, and sensitivity and commitment to health equity, diversity, and inclusion.
* Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions.
* Ability to build relationships and network with both campus and local community partners.
* Demonstrated experience interacting with and establishing interpersonal connections with culturally diverse populations.
* Outstanding public relations and customer service skills with ability to promote recruiting events through a variety of social media outlets.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
* Strong presentation skills with ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective public presentations.
* Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
* Team-oriented, capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion.
* Ability to evaluate effectiveness of current recruitment efforts against targets and benchmarks and recommend alternatives as needed.
* Track budgets and recruitment/marketing expenditures as needed.
* Current, valid, unrestricted drivers license with ability to travel to off-site locations not accessible by public transportation.
* Ability to work evening and weekend hours as required.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Excel and Access; Banner software experience a plus.


Essential Duties

* Maintain professional knowledge in applicable areas by researching recruitment strategies and new trends in the profession and participating in professional organizations, workshops, and training sessions.
* Assume primary responsibility for the development of marketing materials, monthly newsletter and other print media, management of department website and social media.
* Develop and implement yearly calendar of events and activities aimed at increasing recruitment of students.
* Coordinate, facilitate, and provide organizational support as needed for activities, programs, and events.
* Maintain accurate data entry of all recruitment activities to provide accurate recruitment statistical reports.
* Assist with construction of data models, reports, and dashboards for data tracking and analysis.
* Develop and maintain systems to sustain contact with prospective students and target institutions.
* Track and report on diverse recruitment metrics, initiatives and activities.
* Track and report data related to metrics at admission, during training, and through graduation.
* Track and report LKSOM alumni contact information including residency placement and employment.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
