SEN Teaching Assistant | Primary School | Blackburn Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated compassionate, and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team. In this role, you will work closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential. Duties/roles: Work closely with individual pupils or small groups with SEN, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or physical disabilities. Assist the class teacher in implementing learning activities and adapting materials to meet individual needs. Promote inclusion and encourage social interaction among pupils. Work closely with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individual education plans (IEPs). Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. Person specification: SEN Teaching Assistant Qualifications or Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
