Resident Support Worker

£24,150 - £28,350 per annum
12-month fixed-term contract
We are looking for a compassionate and hardworking talented individual who can regularly provide support and guidance to residents, ensuring that the property they reside in is safe and that the support enables the resident to move through our services into independent accommodation.
The support worker will be able to provide guidance, advice and where necessary signpost and assist the resident with day-to-day skills to motivate and encourage them, to reach their goals and where necessary utilising external agencies or other charities to support those goals where that is necessary.
You will work as part of a team responsible for the delivery of a high-quality service to all residents within the specified area or patch allocated and ensure properties in management are safe for residents to occupy.
Other responsibilities will include:
· To onboard and offboard residents as required and to ensure that all of the relevant paperwork is completed
· Ensure residents are familiar with their new property and appropriate information is provided
· To go through and explain the license agreement with particular reference to house rules and consequences of non-compliance.
· Complete an online housing benefit application on behalf of the resident and ensure the resident has signed the license agreement
· Update Internal software with each tenants housing benefit reference and upload tenant’s license agreement and ID documents
· Complete weekly support sessions
· To compile a risk assessment and support plan for each new resident
· Update risk and assessments and support plans on a weekly basis
· To signpost residents to relevant support services available in the area
· Manage resident expectations in relation to housing
· Ensure residents meet their obligations relating to service charges
· To respond to any issues of anti-social behaviour and take retrospective action in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
· Carrying out health and safety checks of individual properties and communal areas
About you
· Previous experience of support work is preferred but not essential
· Ability to plan and organise own time effectively, create own work schedules, prioritising, preparing in advance and setting of realistic timescales
· Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Able to work collaboratively and flexibly in a fast-paced environment
· Confident working with people at all levels of the business
· Patient, tactful, diplomatic and approachable
· Ability to stay calm in difficult situations
· Good IT skills and experience of the Microsoft suite of products
· Be able to work as a team and on their own as required
