We are supporting a well-established law firm in the North East with an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to join their specialist Criminal Justice team. You will work closely with an experienced mentor, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills and confidence as you progress.
About the Role
The Criminal Justice Department is one of the largest in the region, offering Police Station, Magistrates’ Court, and Crown Court representation 24/7, 365 days a year. You will assist clients across a wide geographical area and work on a diverse range of matters, including private prosecutions and cases under Health & Safety and Trading Standards legislation.
The team prides itself on its reputation for high standards of advocacy, professionalism, and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in handling client matters under supervision.
Draft and review legal documents.
Conduct legal research and provide advice to clients.
Support senior solicitors with day-to-day case management.
Participate in client meetings and court attendances as required.
What We’re Looking For
Newly qualified solicitor (0–2 PQE).
Strong academic background with excellent attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive, motivated, and eager to learn.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
