Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the finance department and team, ensuring they function efficiently
2. Develop and implement improvements to the finance function
3. Monitor, maintain and improve financial controls
4. Prepare monthly management accounts and report to senior management and the directors
5. Ensure balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
6. Ensure the fixed asset register is maintained accurately
7. Ensure the stock records are maintained accurately
8. Assist with budgeting and forecasting
9. Assist with management meetings
10. Assist with tax planning and profit improvement plans
11. Complete other ad-hoc requests from senior management and the directors
12. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and insurers
13. Ensure compliance with EC Sales documentation and financial laws and regulations
14. Prepare and analyze data using in-house systems
15. Simplify complex reports for clarity
16. Ensure accurate, timely, and relevant recording and analysis of financial information
17. Oversee sales ledger, credit control, and purchase ledger functions, including review of payment runs
18. Manage other general accounting duties and cover team members during leave
19. Resolve disputes with external stakeholders
Required Skills:
* Previous experience in industry
* Proven leadership and team management abilities
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software
