About the Role
Due to continued success and expansion within our Energy Division, we are currently looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Renewable Electrical Designer to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have experience within energy sector projects such as Solar PV Systems, Battery Storage and Hydro Power.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop Low Carbon solutions and cost reduction strategies for clients.
* Design automated energy metering and monitoring systems.
* Manage third party design teams.
* Maintain a good, professional working relationship with customers, keeping them updated throughout the duration of the project.
* Design energy projects; solar PV, battery, smart grids, hybrid systems.
* Undertake initial yield assessment of potential sites.
* Carry out site visits to determine electrical points of connection, required equipment, technical solutions and pricing for projects.
* Assist in preparation of tenders "and" quotations.
* Keep up to date with changes in the energy and environmental regulatory framework.
Key Skills & Experience
* Significant experience within the energy sector.
* Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Renewable Energy Engineering.
* Experience with engineering design software (Amtech, PVsol, PVSyst, Autocad).
* Experience utilising PV Sol and PV System design software in the production of commercial solar designs and the ability to interrogate design software outputs.
* Experience in energy sector projects such as Solar PV systems, battery storage Private wire projects.
* City & Guild 2372/2399 or NICEIC Solar PV, preferred but not essential.
* Proven track record of low carbon design solutions.
* A deep understanding of the scope of work, specifications, programmes and cost control of tender documents.
* A deep understanding of contract, contract conditions and obligations.
* A deep understanding of current G99 & G100 Regulations, Electrical Regulations, Building Regulations, Codes of Practice and Legislative requirements.
Work Pattern
* Monday- Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
* Monday - Thursday, 08:00-17:00.
* Friday, 08:00-15:30.
* Office based in Stirling, with Hybrid working option, subject to the needs of the department/business.
