Responsibilities
* Be hands‑on, building and maintaining Private Cloud products and services in your specialist area.
* Lead technical conversations with stakeholders ranging from senior management to subject‑matter experts.
* Collaborate across internal, external, and third‑party teams.
* Drive best‑in‑class automation and security practices.
* Educate and mentor teams on infrastructure engineering topics, and drive up‑skilling.
* Act as a subject‑matter expert and expand knowledge across the hybrid cloud platform.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in infrastructure engineering and a passion for technology, with a commitment to delivering high‑quality, scalable solutions. Experience across Compute, Storage, and Networking is valued.
Technical expertise:
* Virtualisation platform automation (preferably VMware Aria Automation or VCF)
* Virtual machine infrastructure development/management (preferably VMware ESXi)
* Virtual machine networking development/management (preferably VMware NSX)
* Hybrid cloud technologies such as VMware (Aria suite or VCF)
* Automation tooling (Terraform, Ansible, Salt, Git)
* DevOps principles
* Networking (DHCP, DNS, firewalls, load balancing)
Experience you should be able to demonstrate:
* Developing, supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure systems
* Designing or contributing to solutions for a Private Cloud environment
* Defect management and technical fault‑finding
* Performance optimisation
* Security best practices and compliance standards
* Problem solving and communication skills
* Mentoring colleagues and supporting technical development of others
* Agile ways of working
Additional useful experience:
* VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
* Azure VMware Solution (AVS)
* Databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle)
* Operating systems (Windows & Linux)
