We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated dental therapist to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide patient-centred clinical dental duties in NHS Dumfries & Galloway. This post involves providing the full range of therapist and hygienist services, as outlined in the General Dental Council (GDC) scope of practice, to patients including those with additional needs, medically complex, anxious/phobic, priority groups such as prisoners and homeless, safety net service and as referred by dentists within the PDS.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the full range of therapist and hygienist services in accordance with GDC scope of practice.
* Provide patient-centred clinical dental care to diverse patient groups, including those with additional needs, medical complexity, anxiety or phobias, and priority groups.
* Work within the Public Dental Service (PDS) and collaborate with dentists for patient referrals.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DCP scope of practice and Health & Safety requirements; communicate effectively, including in challenging situations.
Qualifications
* GDC registration as a dental therapist is essential.
* Relevant clinical experience in dental therapy or equivalent.

* Location: Garden Hill Health Centre
* Hours: 3 days (22.5 hours) per week, with scope for review; other work patterns may be considered.
