Lead Wireman Electrical Department Location: Birmingham Our client, a leading Automationcompany, is looking for an experienced Lead Wireman to join their Electrical Department. This is a hands-on leadership role supervising the electrical build team while contributing to high-quality machine and control panel builds. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise the electrical team, ensuring work is allocated efficiently and completed on schedule. Wire control panels and industrial machines (motors, sensors, valves, etc.). Install trunking, baskets, and wiring accessories to machines. Conduct electrical tests and quality checks on completed panels and machines. Assist with IO checks on newly wired machines and offsite installations as required (12 per year). Monitor build hours versus planned schedules and report discrepancies. Ensure adherence to electrical standards, safety protocols, and company quality processes. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Required Qualifications & Experience: C&G 2382 17th Edition Amendment 3 of Electrical Installations BS7671. Proven experience reading electrical schematics, building electrical cabinets, wiring industrial machines, and testing circuits. Experience in an industrial environment preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and relevant legislation (HASAWA 1974, PUWER, ISO). Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task across multiple projects. Other Requirements: Legal right to live and work in the UK. Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment and travel to customer sites in the UK and overseas. Full UK driving license.
