What's involved with this role: Job Title: Finance Analyst Ref: Brent 5270311 Pay rate: £298 per day PAYE - this is a provisional pay rate This role requires a non-negotiable office attendance of 3 days per week. The role: We are seeking a Finance Analyst to provide vital financial support across various departments and schools. This role involves working closely with teams on areas including annual budgeting, monthly financial monitoring, statutory reporting, Tax and VAT compliance, Exchequer, Controls, and overall council financial functions. You will support the Public Realm, Regeneration, and Schools sectors within the Capital Programme and assist with auditor queries related to the 2024/25 draft year-end accounts. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-level professional financial advice to officers on a broad range of financial matters Manage the administration of banking and pre-paid card systems Play a key role in the council’s capital expenditure and income monitoring and control processes Contribute to the preparation of the council’s statutory annual accounts Responsible for undertaking a wide range of Oracle system reconciliations and supporting business operational reconciliations What the client is looking for: AAT qualified, part-qualified CCAB or CII (or equivalent experience), with ongoing study Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial accounting, control, and statutory/regulatory reporting in banking and local government funding Experienced with Oracle Financials, Business Objects, ADI, and banking systems; skilled in data extraction, manipulation, and reporting Proficient in capital accounting, banking rules, income tax issues (including P11D, CIS, VAT, TMA), and compliance with CIPFA Code of Practice Skilled in analysing complex financial and non-financial data to identify trends, investigate problems, and forecast outcomes Experienced in championing financial control, project management, preparing accounting statements, government returns, and supporting local authority capital programmes How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
