Business Development Manager


Reporting to: Sales Director

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 DOE plus commission/bonus

Benefits: Health Cash Plan, Life Assurance & Pension

Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-Time

Working Hours: 09:00–17:30, Monday–Friday

Location: Hybrid (office minimum one day per week)


The company is a leading provider of Direct Mail, Hybrid Mail, Transactional Mail, UK & International Postage, and Print Management services. With a strong track record of excellence and innovation, the business is expanding rapidly following significant investment in both technology and machinery.


Due to continued investment and company growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to join the team. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities within the Direct Mail, Hybrid Mail, and Transactional Mail sectors.

This role requires significant experience in business development and professional client relationship management, along with a strong understanding of customer journey processes and techniques across print, direct mail, transactional mail, and digital platforms.


Duties & Key Responsibilities

* Develop and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with company targets
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Direct Mail, Hybrid Mail, Transactional Mail, UK & International Postage, and Print Management sectors
* Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and newly onboarded clients
* Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of client projects
* Grow new customers by quoting, converting leads, and acting as a key point of contact
* Maintain regular contact with existing customers to increase spend, frequency of use, and profitability
* Ensure maximum customer satisfaction to support long-term retention
* Stay up to date with industry trends and competitor activity
1. Skills Required

* Minimum of 3 years’ B2B sales experience within the relevant sectors
* Essential knowledge of postal services and products across DSA and Royal Mail
* Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
* Results-driven with a focus on exceeding targets
* Willingness to travel as required
* Proficient in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience desirable
