SEN Teaching Assistant Birmingham City Centre Primary SEN School Start Date : After February Half Term 2026 Ongoing (Potential Temp to Perm for the right candidate) Contract Type : Full Time, term time only (Part Time considered) Pay : £89.05 - £100 per day depending on experience (PAYE no umbrella deductions) About the role: justteachers is seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary SEN school based in Birmingham City Centre. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech and Language needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a full-time role starting after the February half term on an ongoing basis, with the potential for a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate. Part-time applicants will also be considered. You will be working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to provide tailored academic and emotional support, either on a 1:1 basis or within small groups. The ideal candidate will be patient, proactive, and confident supporting primary-aged pupils with varying needs. Key Requirements: Support pupils in small group and 1:1 settings with learning and personal development. Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities. Promote inclusion, independence, and positive engagement within the classroom. Implement effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policy. Support pupils with communication and sensory needs where required. Proven experience working with children in a school or relevant setting (that can be referenced). A minimum of two references covering the past two years, including your most recent employer (education-based references preferred).
